RRB JE Vacancy Details

One of the main objectives of the RRB Junior Engineering recruitment

RRB JE Exam Pattern & Syllabus

RRB JE recruitment process will be conducted through the following stages:

Negative Marking: There will be a provision of negative marking in
both the CBTs. 1/3^rd of the marks allotted to any question will be deducted for the wrong answer.

Here is the detailed pattern of each stage:

RRB JE Pattern and Syllabus (1st Stage CBT)

The first stage CBT will comprise of 100 objective type questions
with multiple choices. The duration of the test will be 90 minutes
(120 minutes for PwBD candidates accompanied by Scribe). Questions will be from the following areas:

RRB Junior Engineer - 1^st CBT Syllabus

The following topics will be covered under each section:

Mathematics: Number systems, BODMAS, Fraction, Decimal, Square Root,
Ratio and Proportion, LCM and HCF, Profit and Loss, Percentages, Algebra,
Mensuration, Time and Distance, Time and Work, Simple and Compound Interest,
Age Calculations, Trigonometry, Geometry, Pipes & Cistern, and Calendar & Clock.

General Intelligence & Reasoning: Alphabetical and Number Series, Analogies,
Mathematical operations, Coding and Decoding, Relationships, Jum-bling, Syllogism,
Venn Diagram, Data Interpretation and Sufficiency, Similarities and Differences,
Conclusions and Decision Making, Analytical reasoning, Directions, Classification,
Statement – Arguments and Assumptions etc.

General Awareness: Knowledge of Current affairs, culture and history of India including freedom struggle,
Indian geography, Indian Economy, Indian Polity and constitution,
Environmental issues concerning India
and the World, General scientific and technological developments, Sports etc.

General Science: Chemistry, Physics, and Life Sciences (up to CBSE 10^th Syllabus)

RRB JE Pattern and Syllabus (2nd Stage CBT)

150 objective type questions with multiple choices will be asked in the second stage CBT.

General Awareness: Knowledge of Current affairs, culture and history of India including freedom struggle, Indian geography, Indian Polity and constitution, Indian Economy, Sports, Environmental issues concerning India and the World, General scientific and technological developments etc.

Physics & Chemistry: Topics from CBSE syllabus up to class 10^th

Basics of Computers and Applications:

• The architecture of Computers - input and Output devices,
  Storage devices, Networking, Operating systems like Windows, Unix, and Linux,
• MS Office,
• Various data representation
• Internet and Email
• Websites & Web Browsers
• Computer Virus

Basics of Environment and Pollution Control:

• Basics of Environment - Adverse effect of environmental pollution and control strategies
• Air, water and Noise pollution, their effect and control
• Global warming
• Waste Management
• Acid rain
• Ozone depletion

Technical Abilities:

Various exam groups have been defined as per the educational qualifications for each post.
Questions will be asked as per the syllabus prescribed for different exam groups.

Document Verification

Document Verification/medical examination will be conducted as applicable
for the candidates shortlisted through the second stage CBT examination.

RRB JE Exam Eligibility

Nationality

• The candidate should be a citizen of India, Nepal, Bhutan, Tibet, etc.
  Check out complete eligibility in the official notification.

Educational Qualification

• A candidate should have 3 years Engineering Diploma from a recognized University/institute in any one of the subjects – Mechanical/Production Engineering/Electrical/Electronics/Manufacturing/Tools & Die Making/Mechatronics/ Industrial/Machining/Automobile/Instrumentation & Control/Tools & Machining/Civil Engineering.
   
• Detailed information on educational qualification is available in Annexure-A of the official notification.

Age Limit

• The Candidate should not be less than 18 years and should not be more than 33 years of age.
• There is age relaxation for Reserved Category candidates.

Please Note: As per the official notification, “Those awaiting results
of the final examination of the prescribed educational/technical qualification SHOULD NOT apply.”

RRB JE Exam Application Process

Before moving ahead with the application process, read the 
official information bulletin carefully, check your eligibility, get the scanned images
of photograph, signature, and category certificate ready, and check the vacancy table for different RRBs.

RRB JE Exam Application Process

• Go to the official website of the RRB through which you want to appear for the exam.
  The list of RRBs’ websites is given above. Please note that the selection of RRB
  cannot be changed once the registration number is allotted.
   
• Click on the ‘Click here to Apply for CEN 03/2021’ link.
   
• Select your preferred RRB and ‘Confirm’ it.
   
• Click on the ‘New Registration’ button.
   
• Enter your name, DOB, parents’ name, Aadhaar number, mobile number,
  email id etc. Make sure that all the information is correct. Submit the information.
   
• The registration Id and password will appear on the screen and an OTP will be
  sent to your registered email id and mobile number.
   
• Enter the OTP in the respective textbox and ‘Validate’.
   
• Click on the ‘Apply/Edit’ option and fill the eligibility criteria form.
   
• Submit the eligibility form and the list of posts you are eligible for will appear on the screen.
   
• Select your preference and submit the same.
   
• Select the exam group and click on the payment tab.
   
• Make the application fee payment. *
   
• After successful payment of the fee, click on ‘Fill additional details’
  option to complete the application process.
   
• Upload the scanned images of photograph and signature.
  Make sure that the scanned images are uploaded properly by clicking on ‘Preview’ option. The modification will be done on payment of 100/-.
   
• Click on ‘Final Submit’ button to complete the application process.

*Application Fee Payment

Candidates are required to pay the application fee as per their category:

Important: 400 for General category and  250 for the reserved categories will be
refunded (after deducting applicable bank charges) after the candidates appear for the 1^st stage CBT.

Mode of Payment

Application fee can be paid through the following modes:

• Net Banking/Credit card/Debit card
• Payment through e-challan at SBI branches
• Payment through Post office by generating e-challan

No other mode of payment will be accepted.

RRB JE Exam Other Details

RRB JE Exam Paper Language

English will be the default language for the question paper. Candidates
will also be given choice for selecting other languages. These languages are:

• Hindi
• Assamese
• Bengali
• Gujarati
• Punjabi
• Konkani
• Kannada
• Manipuri
• Malayalam
• Marathi
• Odiya
• Telugu
• Tamil
• Urdu

In case of discrepancy in the questions, the English version of the question papers will be considered final.

RRB JE Exam Admit Card

RRB will issue the Hall Tickets of Document Verification and Medical Exam 
for Junior Engineer (JE) exam 2022 at the official website of the respective RRBs.
The admit cards will be made available to download one week prior to the exam date through the online mode only.

Please note that no admit card will be sent through the post. The admit card contains details
such as the candidate’s Name, Roll Number, examination date, venue, etc.
It is mandatory to carry the admit card to the examination Centres for appearing in the exam.

RRB JE Exam Result

• RRB releases the JE exam result through the official websites of different RRBs.
• Candidates who have appeared in the examination can check the
  result through their log-in credentials.
• After the result is announced, qualified candidates are called for
  the document verification process or the medical fitness (as applicable).
• If any false information is identified during the DV process, the candidature will be cancelled.
• No announcement is made for the result declaration yet.
• Candidates must keep a check on the official website for the result dates.

RRB JE Exam Salary Range

For Junior Engineer (JE), Junior Engineer (Information Technology),
Chemical & Metallurgical Assistant (CMA), and
Depot Material Superintendent (DMS), the initial salary will be  35400/-.
Other allowances will be as per those admissible at that time.
